Upon first starting this website I also started something I called The Aubreyad Press Gang to do a group read of the series. We got through the first and second novels before the project fell by the wayside, but the discussion questions remain. Perhaps someday the APG will set sail once more…

1. What does the fact that Stephen keeps his diary in some kind of bizarre code say about his character?
2. What is the cause of the new reserve in Stephen’s friendship with Jack? Is it more on one side than the other? Does Jack know of Stephen’s feelings for Diana?
3. Despite Jack’s desperate need for a ship, he fights with Lord St. Vincent. Do you think St. Vincent would have given him a ship had he been more civil, or did Jack never have a chance?
4. What do you think are Diana’s motivations for her behavior with both Jack and Stephen?
