Naval battles, political intrigue and romantic rivalry in Roger Danes’s dramatization of Patrick O’Brian’s novel, set in 1804 in England, India and on the high seas.

Part One: Captain Jack Aubrey engages the Spanish at sea and the French on land, but falls victim to enemies at home.

Part Two: Captain Jack Aubrey is ordered to convey a British ambassador to the East Indies. But in Bombay Stephen meets Diana Villiers, the one woman that Jack would avoid at any cost.

Part Three: Tragedy halts the ship’s journey to the East Indies. In Calcutta, Stephen makes a proposal of marriage and takes part in a duel.
